fourth miscarriageFrom: Andrea (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 24 Oct 1998 10:16:44 -0500 (CDT)
I am 26 years old and seem to be having my fourth miscarriage out of five pregnancies. One went to term, and the others aborted at 10, 7, and 7 weeks. I am currently 5.4 weeks pregnant, and the bleeding has begun, just as it did in the other three miscarriages. Last night I had light spotting, and by this morning heavier bleeding. I have passed no clots yet, but am sure I will as I have in the past. I have had 3 D&C's for miscarriage, the last one being in March of this year. My question is this: Is a D&C totally necessary? I would really not like to have to go into the hospital again for this, as it is becoming very costly. My husband and I have decided at this point not to try for any more children for obvious reasons. I would ask these questions of my doctor, however it is the weekend and his office doesn't open until Monday. I have had no pain or cramping. Would it be harmful to not have anything done at this point? Will I just continue bleeding until everything has passed? Thanks for any suggestions you may have.
