Re: What Is The Women's Health Forum?

Barbara:
First, hugs to you for the outstanding (and I'm sure oftentimes
thankless) job you do as Editor. I have logged on to this forum almost
daily since June of this year when I first had to visit a gyn-oncologist
and faced surgery. I felt totally alone and confused and this forum
armed me with so much information. I wish you all could see the smile
on his face when he realized I had actually taken the time to find out
something about my condition.
But secondly, Barbara, I'm not sure I see the problem as you do. I do
see a few rather odd posts occasionally, but this is the internet for
God's sake. It happens all over the internet and you, nor I, will ever
be able to stop that. To blast everyone for a few is not right and does
not encourage open communication on a forum (if we were all happy and
everything always went the way it should when we visited our ob-gyn's,
if we always left with all of our questions answered, and if we never
doubted anything our ob-gyn's did, we wouldn't have a need for a forum
like this, would we?)
My advice to you, Barbara, is to ignore the really bad posts (lots of
time they're just trying to get attention anyway), and also to stop
thinking the medical professionals (the awesome medical professionals)
on this forum are as thinned skinned as you make them out to be. I
doubt that they are.
Hugs, Barbara.
