I'm not a doctor, but it is my understanding that adhesions (from endometriosis) are caused by the implants of endometriosis doing their thing, that is responding to the hormonal cycles and causing adjacent structures to stick to each other. Adhesions are also caused by surgery and infection. So I would say it is not technically correct to use the terms adhesion and implants interchangeably.
