LPD latest chapter in ongoing saga...

Aaarrgghh! It's been a tough couple of years on the medical front.

I'm 33, and have been quite healthy my whole life. Starting about a year and a half ago my doctor started evaluating me for interstitial cystitis. Although the diagnosis has not been concretely determined, the urologist I'm working with is definitely leaning in this direction.

Earlier this year I lost a baby at 21 weeks. It was either IC, an abruption, or preterm labor...neither my regular or OB nor the peri I've started to see are positive.

My husband and I just started trying again...however my cycle is not cooperating! After 20+ years of being pretty regular, I seem to now have a short luteal phase. My doctor is planning on doing an endo biopsy in a couple weeks to confirm LPD.

A couple of questions: 1) Could any of the above at all related, or am I just unlucky? (I'm particularly interested in possible immune system issues because of the interstitial cystitis)

2) I've documented my shortened luteal phase pretty well (through mucous observation and ovulation preditor kits) over the past couple months. Why the need for the endo biopsy? What else could the problem be other than low progesterone? I'm just so anxious to be pregnant...couldn't I just go on progesterone supplements?

Thanks!
