A letter from the publisherFrom: Roberta (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 19 Oct 1998 10:48:20 -0500 (CDT)
Dear Loyal Forum Members, I apologize for the current angry political threads that have been introduced on the OBGYN.net Women's Health Forum. I am sure that the other forums and websites listed in those posts will be able to pursue the political and clinical issues being reposted now to our forum. They are real issues to be sure, but are unfortunately outside of the scope of our forum. The doctors and medical professionals that reply to women's questions on our forum do so voluntarily out of kindness and a sincere concern for all of us. I have absolutely NO intention of allowing them to be thrust into a position of having to defend or rebuke the actions of the entire medical profession. I also have NO intention of allowing individuals to accuse them of participating in a conspiracy if they refrain from participating in some other forum that is discussing these issues elsewhere on the Internet. After thoughtful consideration I am therefore proceeding with the following course of action: 1. I apologize to the doctors for having been put in this untenable situation and request they bear with us and not quit the Women's Health Forum. We need you and appreciate you. The few DO NOT speak for the many. There would be no WHF without you so please allow us the opportunity to correct this situation. 2. I apologize to the women who have recently posted questions that our medical professionals CAN answer. You are getting drowned out in the noise. We will attempt to get your questions answered and get things back on there usual even keel ASAP. Please bear with us. 3. To those who have decided to bring another forum's discussions to OBGYN.net and try to make us all feel bad that we don't want to get involved, I say you are being unfair. I support your right to have your own forum and must insist that you respect our right to have ours. These posts WILL be removed. As Publisher I have that right and will now exercise it. The posters will also be removed from our mailing list as it is apparent they are not willing to follow the posted rules of the Women's Health Forum: http://forums.obgyn.net/forums/womens-health/rules.html Thank you for your patience dear WHF members. Kind Regards, Roberta
