20wks pg & sharp cervical/uterus pain....need helpFrom: Amy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 13 Oct 1998 11:08:35 -0500 (CDT)
Hello, I am having a 20 wk sonogram tomorrow, but curious for any advice about this pain I am having. It is a sharp pain that comes in waves around the cervical area (i'm guessing). They are like short sharp waves of pain around that area. Very painful. I try to do a Kegel to stop it (because that is where the pain is near). The pain also sometimes is around my lower uterus. Do you have any idea what this might be? Also, the lower part of my uterus (near the pelvic area) sometimes hardens and feels like major pressure. Like the baby is way down there pushing. It comes for about 15 seconds, then goes. Then comes again. I notice this much more often when I am standing for moderate periods of time. What might this be? Thanks much for any info. I will be asking the doc these questions tomorrow also! By the way, I think I am seeing the Nurse midwife during this visit. She doesn't seem to take problems seriously. Almost as if she thinks we are all paranoid and it is nothing. Any suggestions on how to make her take this seriously, without offending her? Thanks alot!!! Amy
