Efficiency of Tubal LigationFrom: Kat (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 5 Oct 1998 16:40:41 -0500 (CDT)
I had my tubal ligation seven years ago, and quite stand by my decision... I love my two children, and providing for them is MORE than enough... But lately I have been hearing horror stories about the effectiveness of the operation over time... i.e. that the scar tissue which blocks the tube actually lessens, and the chance of becoming pregnant again actually increases over time... YIKES! I do know that they did the cauterizing-thing and not the clamp-thing... does this have any effect on the long-term effectiveness of the operation? I'm in a panic, here... I couldn't handle being pregnant again... someone PLEASE answer...
