Marchbein, M.D.: "Re: Bacterial vaginitis/MetroGel/bleeding" I was given MetroGel for bacterial vaginitis and since using it I have experienced bleeding. Since this is not my period, I was concerned and called my doctor. I was told that this bleeding is from the infection (I did not have bleeding as a symptom of the infection), it's normal and continue with the MetroGel. This is my third day of a five day treatment. I am still concerned. Is there any cause for alarm?
