DepoProvera and MigrainesFrom: Cindy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 27 Sep 1998 20:25:29 -0500 (CDT)
I am looking to gather information on DepoProvera and Migraines. Two times in my life I was on the combination BCP, after being on it for months I developed Migraines, bothe times I was evaluated by a neurologist who saied they were coming from the BCP, I stopped the pills and several months later the migraines stopped. About 6 months ago I took the mini pill for 2 months then followed by a Depo shot, no migraines during that time, took the second Depo shot the last wek of August and for the last 3 weeks have had headaches, and once esclated into a migraine. My GYN does not feel that the Depo is causing the headaches, but rather allergies and pollen. I have headaches almost everyday , varying degrees. Depo has greatly lessened my endo pain, but now now my headaches are back after years without them , not to mention the extra weight Depo made me gain. Any thoughts on this topic would be most appreciated Thanks.
