I had a lap done in April to remove a large ovarian cyst. The pain was not that bad in the hospital, the nurses did a great job of medicating me when I complained of any pain. I did get to spend the night because I had the surgery at 10:00 pm. I left the next morning by 10:00 am. I found that walking around helped my pain considerably. I only needed pain pills at home the day after. I walked around the house and garden until I would get tired, sit for awhile, then walk some more. The doctor told me that was why I got better so fast. I did have minimal pain (ibuprofen level) for 6 weeks after the surgery and it eventually went away. But I'm sure that everyone is different.
