I am not a doctor, but I have experienced some of the symptoms. It was much worse when I was a child. I was diagnosed with mitral valve prolaspe. I had some pretty noticeable shortness of breath and heart palpatations a few years ago. I saw the Pediatric Cardiologist that I saw as a child (who I now work for designing their database). Mitral valve has resolved. The doctors (and I wholeheartly trust them) don't seem to be very concerned with heart palpitations. They told me that it was very common and the kind of thing that if you worry about it, it gets worse (affected by stress). Of course, this was after I had an echocardiogram and an exam.

If you are really concerned about it, go and see your doctor. This is a very simple thing to check. It does feel scary when it's happening, so just get it checked out for piece of mind.

Good luck,

Ann
