Denise, I am so sorry for your situation. I am not a doctor - I teach childbirth classes.What the test is picking up is most likely the hcg from this ectopic pregnancy - sometimes it takes awhile for the levels to go down to pre pregnancy state. That is why you are having your levels checked weekly. On your test insert, it may mention that if you have been pregnant within the last 8 weeks, you may get a false positive.
