Surg+Amoxil+Period=loose BM's???From: AnnMarie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 15 Sep 1998 09:40:55 -0500 (CDT)
I just had a couple of surgeries, one of which was a tonsillectomy on Sept 3rd. I was placed on Amoxil that day. I had mostly liquids/jello for a week except for a few crackers or cheese I let melt in my mouth at the end. I just started eating more solid food this past weekend. I decided to d/c the Amoxil myself after 8-9 (/10)days b/c of frequent loose stools starting about Sept 10. My period came on Sunday the 13th as scheduled. Often times I will have loose stools w/cramps before periods for a couple of days, but this has been persistent, dark brown and with no cramps. I tried my one last Immodium AD pill and it didn't work. I'm pulling at ideas here wondering what the cause of this is? I don't know if my body could *still* be in shock from getting real food again, or the Amoxil, or if it's just a stranger cycle this month. Any guidance?
