Some people do take longer than others. The recomendation I always give is sexual intercourse. Althought there is good theory behind this it is not proven.

The other possibility is that you have what is called an anthropoid pelvis. This predisposes to what is called an occipito-posterior position which slows labour down. However, well over than 50% of babies turn during labour.

The above is more common in women of African origin (less so of West-Indian). I don't know if this is applicable to you but if it is I'm afraid there is nothing you can do.
