Loose Vaginal Canal /w HPVFrom: K (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 31 Aug 1998 16:31:51 -0500 (CDT)
I am 28yrs old, have 3 children, 6yr old twins, & an 18mo old, all vaginal deliveries. Tubes were tied right after last birth. I also have HPV which has affected the labia, walls of the vaginal canal, & the cervix at one time or another. I was diagnosed /w HPV at age 19, have been treated /w acid on entire labia once, 3 colposcopies biopsies & laser treatments. Last laser treated in '93 for class 3 dysplasia on cervix found on pap smear. No warts are present at this time & last pap normal, done July 98. Question: The walls of my vaginal canal and opening to it have become very loose. I have been in a monogamous relationship for 5 years, my partner & I are experiencing a decrease in enjoyment of our lovemaking due to the looseness. Kegel exercises don't seem to help much. I do not think I have a prolapsed uterus or a fallen bladder because my cervix is not at the opening of the vaginal canal, the cervix is about an inch and a half down inside the canal. Is there anything that can be done? Restorative surgical procedures or any other suggested courses of treatment? If so, would the HPV make such surgeries or treatments not a possible option in my case? Thank you for your time & I look forward to reading your response.
