histeroscopy

I have been suffering with infertility problems for almost 2 years. I have also had 1 confirmed m/c. And possibly 2 more unconfirmed. I had HSG done May 97. Was told "everything was normal". Dec of 97 I had lap. It reveiled minimal endometriosis, and bilaterial ovarian cists. Everthing was corrected at time of surgery. I have also been on Clomid on and off since Dec 96. Well, in May I thought I was pregnant even though HPT was neg on day 32. (But the only confirmed pregnancy I had I didn't test positive until day 34.) On day 33 I started passing a lot of tissue and exteme heavy bleeding. I called Dr. and they told me that there was no way I was preg id HPT was neg. Therefor they just blew me off. REcently I changed Drs. I went to see a reproductive endocrinologist. He reviewed all of my previous medical records including HSG films. Right away he noticed something on the x-ray. He ays that he thinks it is a polyp or a fibroid tumor. He said that this is the most probable reason for my m/c(s). He is recomemding a histeroscopy. What is this and how is it preformed? Also, is it odd that something as important as this should have been missed? Even I could see the problem on the x-ray. It is fairly large. Thank you in advance for your help.
