absorption of medication

I've heard that taking birth control pills can decrease the absorption of analgesics such as APAP, therefore requireing a person to take a larger dose to get rid of a headache. I have always taken prescription allergy medication. About the same time I started the pill my allergies became much worse. Could this be the same problem, or is it a coincidense?

Thanks, Nicole
