Hello, I found your website doing a search on rectocele. I am a 30 year old white female, who has recently been diagnosed with this. Call me dumb, but I have never heard of this before. I have three daughters. And with all three deliveries I have had to have a four-way laceration(I think that is right) where not only have I had an epesitomy, but my rectum was also cute, due to the size of the baby or either my pelvis. My babies range in weight from 7:13 -8 pounds. okay, on your web site, you said that damage during childbirth can occur. I want you to elaborate on this, please. When I finally quit bleeding postpartum, I still felt like I was wearing a pad. I got the mirror and looked and needless to say, I thought I had not been sewn up right. Actually, I knew after delivery that the doctor had not taken his time to sew me up. It was like 15 minutes, and the previous two births, was always over 30 to 40 minutes, maybe even more. Anyway, I went back to the doctor (not the one that delivered) but his associate and I was told I would have to have outpatient surgery and would not be able to be back to my normal routine until 6 weeks later. Well I just thought it would be a simple matter of giving me a few more stiches..WRONg.. Well, I thought life it to busy for surgery right now, and heck, no one is going to see this but my husband so, I just won't do it.. Now this doctor never gave me a name for what I had. Well little did I know if would change my lifestyle like it did. I have pain during sex, whenever I do go to the bathroom, I usually have to take a shower right away. It looks like I have a hemorrhoid hanging out my vagina and it is uncomfortable to wear a tampon, and well it is just not sanitary I do believe, because my rectum and vagina are so close toether..OKAY so I go for another second opinion, and I was told that the doctor probably did not use the care that he should have while sewing me up. Right...I would say so.Also, genetics, and lifestyle. yes I do work in the yards, a little.. he said I need to wait as long as I can for surgery, no guarantee that it will help things, and that I would have to have it done several more times by the age of sixty.. GREAT!!! okay, my question to you, is do you see this in someone my age, and what are your thoughts. I personally think the doctor was lapse in his work.. I am not the only one with this in his practice and most are younger than I. Can you please give me some insight. I am looking for opinions, and I know doctors are a close knit family, but by God, I did not do this to myself. I did not even have sex till about 3 months after, thinking, maybe it would heal on it's on. Please Help???? Always, April
