3rd REQUEST~DR. HILL~Vaginal Yeast Infections

Dear Dr. Hill,

This is my third request for this question. Second time posting to you though.

I have had a vaginal yeast infection (lab confirmed)for several months. I was treated with one dose of Diflucan and Locoid cream to use externally. When this did not work, I was then put on Terazol 3 to use internally and externally. Also, prior to going in for the infection, I had a refill on Terazol 7, which I used the same way that I was using the Terazol 3. When I used the Terazol 7, it seemed to work for about a week after treatment, and then it came back with a vengeance. It still is not working. In fact, it seems like when I finish a treatment, I feel worse, not better. The treatment with the Diflucan, Locoid, and Terazol 3 has been going on for about two weeks now. The itching seems to be external, not internal.

What could be going on? Do you have any other suggestions for treatment? My doctor is now trying Diflucan again, but staggering the treatment. Take one tablet on Day 1, Day 4, and then on Day 7. He is also having me use Cordran Cream(I think that is the name of it). So far, I can't tell any difference! What are your suggestions for treatment? Are there any other diagnostic tests that should be done? I would also like to add that I do not currently have a boyfriend, so that isn't the problem either.

Also, along with this infection, I have a small lump on the labia majora. A couple of days ago, it was the size of a black eyed pea. It has since gotten bigger. What could it be? It is under the skin. It is not a sore, just a lump that I can feel underneath the skin. Could this be related to the infection?

Thank you so much for your time. I really appreciate the help that you can give me with this, as I thank you again for the help that you have given to me several times in the past. I would like to know when you and Dr. Marchbein are moving to Atlanta???
