Recurrent Bacterial Vaginosis

I have had recurring Bacterial Vaginosis for over one year. Nothing the doctor seems to give me gets rid of it. Sometimes it seems to improve but then comes back. Especially if I have intercourse. I cannot live like this getting a bacterial infection every time I have intercourse. And it is not a STD I have been tested for everying under the sun, and always use condoms.

However, I have had infections recur without any sexual intercourse. Can anyone suggest some kind of specialist or treatment I can suggest to my doctor, she says I may just have to live with it. I cannot accept that as an answer. For further information, I am 30 years old, very healthy (exercise, proper nutrition), I have stopped using tampons and I am not regularly sexually active.

Thank you in advance for any response.
