They are both designed for women in whom a diaphragm is not suitable (such as recurrent urinary tract infections or prolapse). The Dumas worlks by forming a barrier at the vaginal mucosa (if you give me your e-mail address I have a photo somewhere on my hard drive) and the vimule works by a combination of that of the cap and Dumas. The Persona is a fascinating device available form a chemist called Boots in the UK. It is a form of natural family planning that includes a small pocket computer that also tests hormone levels from urine dip sticks. Although it is only a few years old it has fallen into disrepute recently as it has a high failure rate. However, my experience of women who use natural family planning is that they are so bodily aware that they use natural methods effectively. Maybe in the future this will help this particular group of well motivated couples.
