cervical dysplasia, atypical cells, hpvFrom: Andrea (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 30 Jul 1998 09:34:33 -0500 (CDT)
About a year ago I had cyosurgery for moderate cervical dysplasia. Have been going in every 3 months for follow up pap smears. Last two have been normal, the one I just had came back atypical. How possible is it that I will have or do have cervical dysplasia again? My husband had hpv with warts back in his early teens. He is now 29 and has not had any reoccurence of the warts. Although I know that the virus can stay in your body. Is it possible that if we don't always use condoms for the rest of our lives that I will continue to have problems with my pap smears? My doctor has never mentioned that I have hpv. I have never had any warts, but I'm sure I probably have it. If I do end up having the dysplasia again, what would be the next course of treatment since I already have had the cryosurgery? Any info would be most appreciated. Thank you.
