doctors who could answer e-mail questions?From: Eve (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 29 Jul 1998 11:28:06 -0500 (CDT)
I live in Russia and as a result have been unable to get specialized care for a recurring urinary tract infection that has been tormenting me for the past year. I did see a urologist this past April when I was in New York, and he said the problem is not structural but probably a recurring bacterial infection (probably e-coli). Here in Moscow I see a primary care physician who has tried to help but frankly doesn't know what to suggest at this point. He also is quite overwhelmed with acute cases at the clinic (he is the only primary care physician there), and since my infection often is not acute (thank god!), he has more pressing treatments to administer. I periodically have questions about the symptoms I am experiencing or about possible avenues for treatment that I therefore am not able to discuss with him easily, and as I said I do not have access to a urologist locally. Can anyone suggest a doctor who might be willing to communicate with me by e-mail (or telephone) to help me sort out this problem? The clinic here can do basic analyses, and potentially I can travel to the US or Europe for more extensive treatment or analysis if it is necessary- but in the meantime I could really use someone knowledgeable to communicate with. I will be happy to arrange payment for a doctor's time. Any references, ideas, or resources to explore will be greatly appreciated! Please feel free to e-mail me directly at ETetzlaff@ucal.ru Thanks to all! Eve
