apirin during 35th weekFrom: kathleen (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 24 Jul 1998 19:21:15 -0500 (CDT)
I am in my 35th week of pregnancy with my first child. I ACCIDENTALLY took 2 generic aspirin tablets the other day (intended for my husband). I have, of course, not taken any at any other time during my pregnancy, but I am still concerned. I called my doctor's office right away, and he said not to worry. I trust my doctor explicitly, but can't help wondering what, if anything, could be complicated by the aspirin. I understand the thinning of blood, and hemorrage possibility during labor, but anything developmental with the baby? Or something else? Also, on another topic, : So far as pain-relief meds are concerned: I've been told about Demerol or Nubane or Stadol--- but I would like to know what the differences are between them, ( or side-effects) so that I can make a decision as to which one I would like to have during labor. Without any information it would just be a coin-toss. I'm a petite woman ( 5'1"- 100 lbs. before pregnancy) (126 lbs. at 35 weeks pregnant) but I consider myself to have a LOW Pain Threshold! Also plan to have an epidural when my dilation is appropriate! Thank you! Kathleen
