Hello Joshua,

I'm not a doctor, but as a runner I would dare to answer that as far as I know there isn't any increased risk of miscarriage while running, or jogging, frequently. I would not suggest starting a whole new exercise program while pregnant, or increasing the amount you've been exercising. If your wife just goes on jogging the way she has always done, a moderate 3-5 miles, then I, IMHO, don't think there is a problem with that. After all, Ingrid Kristiansen, a famous Norwegian runner, who was the worldrecordholder on 5K, 10K *and* the marathon, only found out when she was already five months pregnant, and she had been training very hard during all that time!! And in the runnersmagazines you can always find successtories of women who first win a 5K and then go home to give birth!

A very good site, with also a forum especially for womensrunners, is http://www.runnersworld.com

And now I'm really interested what our dear doctors will answer!?

Good luck, Anneminke
