Hi, I'm scheduled for abdominal supracervical hysterectomy next Wednesday to remove a 20 week size fibroid and several small ones in center of uterus. The problem is that my md and I are assuming that the constant urinating problem I've been having is due to the big fibroid resting on the bladder. But today when I asked my md if she was going to repair the bladder if need be when she's doing the hysterectomy, she told me NO. I imidiately called my HMO insurance co. to see if the reason was financial. Sure enough my md is only down for a hysterectomy proceedure and if she does bladder repair she won't be paid for it unless she preregisters for it. But she said unless she knows if I have bladder injury she's not doing that. Is there anyway around this so I won't have to be cut open twice. It's bad enough to have to go through it the first time for the hyst. Please respond ASAP - I'm an emotional reck right now! Thanks, Janet
