I am not a doctor but a 43 year old woman who had two biopsies, one three years ago and the next two years ago. Both times I had found a lump that also concerned my doctor. He immediately sent me to a surgeon, making the appointment himself so as to be sure that I could go there as soon as possible and not have too much time for worrying. Once you are confronted with a concern like this, every minute seems to last forever and luckily my doctor understood that.

So if you feel worried (and you most probably will) I would recommend you to go see that surgeon NOW. A biopsy isn't really all that painfull. It would be much worse to have to wait for another six months. Most of the time it turns out that there is no reason for concern (as in both my cases) but if there is, it's better to find out NOW and not waste PRECIOUS TIME!! Wishing you all the best, Anneminke
