Jessica: Most of the time this finding on a Pap smear has very little significance. Anything that alters the way the cells look to the cytologist can be reason for this diagnosis, such as a vaginal infection for example. A serious problem usually would receive a different diagnosis. Do have your pap repeated as requested and don't lose too much sleep over it as it more than likely will not prove to be anything serious.
