Hi Nicole.

I'm not a medical professional, but I've had this problem and so has my sister. One thing that could be causing the leaking you're experiencing is a side effect of medication, particularly if you take anti-depressants. This happened to me. My sister, on the other hand, had a pituitary tumor, called a prolactinoma, which causes prolactin levels to be elevated. This sounds scary but is easily treated with a medication called Parlodel (bromocriptine) if it is not too big. If left untreated, such a tumor can press on nerves causing damage to eyesight and other problems. It can also interfere with fertility, since the elevated prolactin levels affect other hormone levels. Many women don't know they have a tumor until they are treated for infertility. My sister had her tumor surgically removed. Trust me, you want to avoid this (it was no fun at all). So please see your doctor for a simple blood test to determine what your prolactin level is or to discuss the side effects of any medications you may be taking. Good luck.
