I am 27, have been off of oral contraceptives for 8 months and my periods were regular for 5 months after that. I have not menstruated for 3 months now and have gained 25 pounds but a recent blood test confirmed that I am not pregnant. My GP has recommended a D&C, saying that it will traumatize my pituitary gland into normal function again. I am concerned about this...what useful purpose could this serve?
