POFFrom: Mary (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 30 Jun 1998 09:08:25 -0500 (CDT)
I have recently been told that I have POF. I am 33 years old and went to my ob/gyn because I thought I was pregnant. I am concerned about two things 1) my FSH was 63 and my Dr. does not feel it will come down. I am sceduled to have it done again on July 10, why has my Dr. said that a sonogram/ultrasound is not necessary. Could anything else cause the high FSH. She has done several other blood tests that came back OK. My only other problem is an enlarged thyroid node. She just wants to watch this and see if it changes. My second question is can someone recommend a DR who specializes in this area. I live in the Princeton NJ area. And a therapist who specializes in this area. I am not dealing with this news very well. Thanks for your help.
