To everyone who answered my other post...(Sexual phobia)

First, I would like to say how amazed I am that so many of you answered my post on sexual phobia!! Plus, how caringly you did so...I have been "lurking" on here for some time, and I have always felt comfortable here, a rarity with many bbs systems on the net today that I have visited. I'd like to share my experiences on boards, in light of the problems about the incredibly rude PTLS "flamers" this week, I was reminded how cruely I was treated on other boards...when I would post other messages on some boards about my concerns (and those that I had when I had my "fake symptoms" awhile back), people seemed to have it in their heads to scare the living daylights out of me. When I was feeling bad (which you'll remember turned out to be just stress), a poster on another medical site actually said to me, "You are pregnant, I will bet money on it. See a Dr. and learn to deal with it." Now, as worried as I already was, you can imagine how this heightened my anxiety,esp. before I was tested. I posted a couple of follow-ups as more hostile posters responded and explained how I had been taking the pill religiously (previously, I had just mentioned that I was on the pill), etc. No such reassurance or advice, just, "You are almost certainly still in trouble. Knew 10, 20, 30 people who got pg on the pill and taking it correctly (strange that the number kept increasing as the thread went on!)" Of course, I know that this happens, but I also knew in my gut that the pill should be more effective than that IF they are in fact taking them right. But that was all anyone could think of, no matter what I said, they were all acting SO SURE that I was--no wonder I was full of anxiety!! Barbra, as I'm sure you know, the "flamer" can burn badly!!

But when I posted here, I felt none of this worry or anxiety. When each of you responded, I felt as though I was talking to a trusted friend--you guys CARED!!! I'd like to take this opportunity to bless each and every one of you for such a teriffic job on this board!!

Well, I'm running a little long now, so I'll keep you posted on how things go with my phobia in a later message soon. In the meantime, have any of you others had experiences similar to mine on other boards?
