Unfortunately, it is not possible to answer this question. Birth control pills are kind of like toothpaste. All toothpaste works about the same to control cavities, but some taste a little better (or worse) depending on personal preferences. Birth control pills all work well to prevent unplanned pregnancy, yet they are tolerated a little better (or worse) depending on personal physiology. There is no "best" pill for acne, endometriosis, or treating depression. I usually prescribe a monophasic pill, such as lo-ovral, ortho-cyclen, ortho-cept, levlin, desogen, lo-estrin, etc. It's usually not critical which pill one takes, as long as it's taken as directed. If a problem develops on one pill, it is perfectly acceptable to switch to another brand. Sometimes this works, sometimes it doesn't. With the above said, all women's health care providers have their favorites, but if you pin them against the wall, they will usually admit, as I do, that it's because they have had good experiences with it, and not because of scientific evidence.
