Second Opinion re: Infertility Treatment -- Doctors Please ReadFrom: Monica (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 29 Jun 1998 14:28:56 -0500 (CDT)
I would greatly appreciate a second opinion from the docs on this forum regarding my situation. I am 31, mother of 2 (1st one conceived w/out fertility drugs; 2nd one conceived on 3rd cycle of Clomid, which had been increased each month and ended up at 150 mg the cycle that worked.) We are trying for #3...took Clomid 100 mg for 2 months, charted temps, which rose slightly around time of ovulation, but not a lot (around 0.3 or 0.4 degrees). So, month 3, increased to 150 mg Clomid. Did follicle study (ultrasound) followed by HcG shot on Day 13. (Follicle study showed 1 follicle at 2 cm and 4 or 5 smaller ones.) My temp did not go up until Day 20 (i.e. 7 days post HcG shot), but went up .7 degrees. My temp has fallen a couple of tenths of a degree now. (I'm on day 23 now) My doc says if not pregnant this month, he wants me to go to a specialist because he thinks I should try Metrodin rather than more Clomid. Do you agree with moving on to a more aggresive treatment at this point? My doc said that even if my temp went up Day 20, since it had been 7 days post HcG shot, the egg was probably not good (dismature). Please respond. Thanks!!!
