Something that has always helped me is white vinegar! You smell like a salad, but if you soak a paper towel with the vinegar, hold it over the sunburn, you can actually feel the paper towel heat up as it draws the heat out of your skin into the vinegar. You'll have to do it a couple of times, but I'm very fair skinned and its always worked for me. Good luck -- I know how you feel!
