Risk of oligohydramnios in 2nd pregnancyFrom: Lori (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 29 Jun 1998 10:04:01 -0500 (CDT)
I was diagnosed with severe oligohydramnios at 33 weeks. My fluid levels were at 4.5 and I was hospitalized for IV hydration. My fluid levels were at 8 and 2 days later I was discharged with orders for strict bedrest and monitoring by a perinatologist. Two weeks later my fluid levels were at 2.3 and I was hospitalized again at 35 weeks for IV hydration. Two days later I had delivered my son by c-section when an ultrasound revealed that my AFI was zero. My son was born healthy and without complications. I also have an arcuate uterus, and was closely monitored by a perinatologist from my 20th week on. I am now 10 wks pregnant again. I will be followed by a perinatologist from 17 weeks on. I would like to know what is the risk of oligohyrdamnios in this pregnancy? Is my risk of oligo higher b/c I have already had this condition in my previous pregnancy? Thanks very much
