Amnio; morbidity vs mortality

I would very much like to get additional statistics on adverse events related to the amnio procedure. I was recently told that the actual fetal mortality ratio is around 1:2000 which is a very big difference from the most commonly quoted figure for adverse events with Amnio; 1:200 to 1:400. Is it true that the latter figure is a morbidity ratio and if so what is the definition of mobidity or the most common occurences (bed rest etc.)? Is 1:2000 a figure from a wide population of patients and is there any reason to believe the procedure results have improved more recently , perhaps due to better ultrasound resolution? Thank you.

I am 39 years old and would consider having an amnio for peace of mind if 1:2000 was the ratio for fetal death as opposed to 1:300.
