Anovulatory cycle, progesterone deficiency, bleedingFrom: Corinne (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 16 Jun 1998 14:57:55 -0500 (CDT)
I wonder about prolonged periods/spotting and progesterone deficiency. When I was 17 I got several cycles with a long period (about 2 weeks). My cycles had always been irregular, sometimes very painful on 1st day of period. I went to a Gyn who put me on Duphaston, which solved all my period problems. After 2 years I started the pill (Minulet) and here again everything fine, regular periods, no pain. I'm now 26. I stopped the pill on March 1st to conceive and started BBT charting. I got 2 normal cycles, 38 and 35 days, ovulation and raise in temps but slow with fall-back pattern. Cycle 3 really weird, frequent spotting, no temp raise, and now I have been bleeding for 10 days - seems my old pattern is back. Can anovulation cause such a prolonged bleeding? Is there a way to stop it (BCP out of question...)? Do I need a progesterone supplement again and is it compatible with pregnancy achievement? Thanks for your help...
