Re: More Questions on Varicose VeinsFrom: AMANDA (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 9 Jun 1998 17:03:43 -0500 (CDT)
While pregnant with my 4/12 month old son I began to feel pins and needles on the inside of right knee at about 6 months along. By 7 months it looked like someone had hit me with a baseball bat-the area was purple and swollen (my ob continued to measure my knees). Thankfully it was winter here in Colorado so I wore the heavy-duty support stockings which really didn't work. I kept my feet up and would lay down whenever possible but nothing seemed to diminish the dull pain and purple swelling. By the 8th month I also had purple veins appearing in the groin area on the same side. 1 month after my son was born both the discoloration and pain was gone-hurrah! Although the varicose veins I had were not the typical red spider veins they were a form of pregnancy induced varicose veins that did thankfully disappear. At Tue, 9 Jun 1998, Harvey S.
