Adhesions?From: Julie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 6 Jun 1998 15:40:27 -0500 (CDT)
I am very confused and concerned about persistant pelvic pain I am suffering with. I was diagnosed with endometriosis in 1990 via laparoscopy. (operative) I have had a total of four laps and one laparotomy (3/97) Following my laparotomy which included cysto with stent placement for ureter lysis (around the ureter) my pain returned approx. 3 months post-op. Along with the right pelvic pain, pain during and after intercourse, I started having pain with urination, blood in my urine and tenderness in the lower abdomen and pubic area. These all still persist. IC has been ruled out by one urologist. Except for the urinary symptoms, the pelvic pain and intercourse pain feel very much the same as when I had active endo. Do adhesions and scaring cause similar pain? And could adhesions be causing the urinary symptoms? My GYN says she is hesitant to do surgery again. I have been to a pain clinic with no results. I don't know where to turn. Is laparoscopy indicated in your opinion?
