You are not alone. I am 28 years old, good health, and I too have had a darkening of the skin on my upper lip. I also have patches on my forehead. Doctor's have diagnosed me with cholasma, also known as melasma or "the mask of pregnancy". This is caused by an imbalance of estrogen and progesterone. I have been told there is nothing I can do for it. I would also like more answers and help. You're right it is very embarrassing and impossible to cover up with makeup. Anybody out there who can help?
