Amorhea

At 18 I still did not get my period so I finally went to see an endocronologist. I had many tests done and the results showed that I had all the reproductive parts functioning properly but my hormone levels were too low (not enough estrogen). I have been very active all my life and I took it to great extremes starting at 12 years old. My body fat is a little lower than average (I think) and I feel healthy. My endocronologist put me on the birth control pill and yes I did get my period however after three months on the pill, I had to go to the hospital because a blood clot developed in my lungs. I am 19 now and still not getting my period. My endocronologist has decided to just put me on progesterone. I was to take it for 10 days and then stop. I did this and after 10 days I got my period. My Doctor thinks that I should follow through with the progesterone atleast five times for each year. I am prone to developing blood clots so she doesn't want to put me on the progesterone for long term. I am really starting to get worried here, especially about the risk I am in for osteoperosis. I exercise, eat healthy and do weight bearing exercises, but I know that estrogen is one of the important prevetatives. I would like to know if there is anyone who has experienced what I am experiencing right now. I would also like some advice on the treatment I am on right now with the progesterone. I would gladly listen to any other methods. I would also like to know if I will be able to have children even if I never get my period. Although, amorhea is common among athletes, I will that my situation is very unusual and that is why it would be very important for me to talk to anyone who is going or has gone through the same thing.

Thank you
