UPDATE...From: Lisa (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 31 May 1998 12:16:40 -0500 (CDT)
Been reading everyone's post and decided to write a little something. I am a high risk patient that had pre-eclampsia with my last two pregnancies. With this pregnancy, I've managed to make it 35 wks and 3 days. This is a record for me since previous pregnancies were born before 35 wks. Blood pressure medication is helping sooo much along with the bedrest. My swelling is minimal, which is unbelievable since I swelled like a balloon last two times. New things I'm experiencing are the braxton-hicks. They seem to happen quite often and sometimes with a crampy like feeling in my lower abdomen. I've been seeing my doc every week since last month and have already started doing nst's. I have also been diagnosed with gestational diabetes, but everything is under control just by diet alone. I've been watching what I'm eating and haven't gained much weight, just baby. The Anti-C antibody that they discovered early on during this pregancy has been showing up negative. I'm so thankful since that can pose a huge problem with me and baby. So far no protein in the urine. I've also been experiencing massive pubic bone and tailbone pain. I practically need a crane to turn me over in bed. Baby gets lots of hiccups during the day. U/S confirmed my gut feeling that we are definitely having another girl. At 31 wks she weighed 4lbs. 1oz. and at 34 wks she weighed 5lbs. 12 oz. I am scheduled next week for another u/s to check her weight again. Things have been going smoothly and hope it continues. I've never been able to deliver vaginally and hope this is my big and last chance. I'm not sure what to expect in the upcoming weeks and have never taken any chilbirth classes. Any info and advice on anything would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Very Nervous,
