Maxine, if you have just been diagnosed with endometriosis, I'd like to provide you with a list of patient resources. WITSENDO is a particularly helpful place to discuss symptoms, and I would highly recommend _The Endometriosis Sourcebook_ by Mary Lou Ballweg. I have endometriosis and have always had back pain (esp with menstruation). I've been told it is due to endo in the cul-de-sac area (behind uterus) and on the bowel. A retroverted uterus can also cause back pain. Here's the list of resources -- * The Endometriosis Association 8585 N. 76th Place Milwaukee, WI 53223 1-800-992-3636 Conducts research into the cause of endo, provides information and support. $35/year membership dues. * WITSENDO, an online support group for endo sufferers and others interested in the disease. It's a subscription only group, so your posts are private. To subscribe, send an email to: LISTSERV@LISTSERV.DARTMOUTH.EDU with the message: subscribe witsendo your name You will be sent a confirmation. Follow the instructions in the confirmation to complete your subscription. WITSENDO is a warm and caring group of women who will be happy to offer information and advice. * ENDOMETRIOSIS RESEACH CENTER Provides information and newsletters to the endo community. 751 Park of Commerce Drive, Suite 130 Boca Raton, FL 33487 800-239-7280 http://www.endocenter.org email: EndoFL@aol.com * ALT.SUPPORT.ENDOMETRIOSIS newsgroup is a publicly accessible newsgroup that exchanges information about this disesase, as well as information about how to cope. * ALT.MED.ENDOMETRIOSIS newsgroup is a moderated, publicly accessible newsgroup that deals with the medical aspects of endo (no support issues). * INCIID BOARD about endometriosis is a publicly accessible board dealing with all issues of endometriosis, but primarily infertility and endo.
