Inherited uterus problems?

I am 34 years old and in good health. All PAP smears come back normal, however, I have noticed since the birth of my second son an increased sensitivity in my pelvic area. (by the way, my son is almost 6 years old now). I have mentioned this sensitivity to my OBGYN who, upon pelvic exam states there are no visible issues.

My issue is this...When my mother was 34, she had her uterus removed. All of her PAPs had been normal up to that point in time, however, her physician had stated that if she did not intend to have additional children, she should have it removed and leave her ovaries intact (the mindset at the time being the uterus was good for two things; pregnancy and cancer). The concern is, upon removal of her uterus, pre-cancerous cells were discovered.

I am now concerned that the same could or can be happening to me without my knowledge. Am I valid in my concern? Am I also correct that a PAP smear will only detect cervical issues/cancer? It is almost time for my next PAP and I would like to consult with my doctor about this, but I would like some feedback in this area prior to that point in time.

Thank you for your response.
