Progesterone Supplements -- how long do I use them?

Hi. I hope someone can answer this for me! I am currently 11 dpo and using 50 mg of progesterone 2X a day since my 2nd day of high temps. If I continue to take the progesterone will I still start my MP (if I'm not pg)? I did this several months ago and I did a hpt on day 13 that was neg. so I quit the progesterone and didn't get MP until 17 dpo and it was really heavy. But, now I wonder if MP will come even if I continue the suppositories?

Incidentally, my dr didn't want to put me on it, but I had a progesterone serum level of 9 on day 22 of my cycle and he thought that was OK but I thought it was low and asked for the progesterone. I also have had spotting from 2 to 5 dpo lasting anywhere from 2 to 10 days sometimes until MP, although my LP is usually 12 to 13 days and my post O temps are way above the coverline.

Also, I have had slight spotting (pink and tan smears) on days 9 & 10 (quit now) -- would this be more likely to be caused by the suppositories, by whatever's caused me to spot in the past (the timing and amount are totally different!) or by implantation bleeding? After almost a year trying after the premature birth and loss of my daughter, I'm really trying not to get my hopes up, but I had to ask that just in case there is something I should know. I've also been really crampy, but I've read that progesterone can cause that.

Okay, sorry my question has gotten so long! Any and all help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Mary B.
