Elaine: endometrial ablation is a great and simple operation for heavy bleeders most of the time. There are however certain contraindications, and hyperplasia is often one of them as a certain type has a pre-cancerous connotation. If it is only simple hyperplasia, with no atypia, then I feel comfortable performing the surgery. Do ask your Doc. Your degree of incapacitation IMHO sounds like you need to do something. If ablation is not feasible, have the hysterectomy,and get on with enjoying your life. Right now you are a pelvic cripple in a sense.
