Confused and need suggestions/advice/support !!

I posted a message in April about my periods (5 days spotting before period, 3-4 day period, 3 days spotting after period) and whether they could be connected with the miscarriage I had in February. I received a very reassuring reply from one of the doctors which basically said that there could be several reasons for my whacky periods but "none of them a threat to my future health or fertility". So far so good. But now I've read a recent posting from a woman whose periods are very similar to mine and whose doctor has said (but without testing) that this may be caused by low progesterone.

Now I'm confused - if its true and I also have low progesterone, couldn't that be the reason why I had the miscarriage? It's now been 3 months since the miscarriage and I've had 3 periods as described above. I'm due to ovulate in about a week and I was all set to try to conceive again but now I'm not sure. I'm so scared I'll have another miscarriage. I would like to get my progesterone level checked but here in England a family doctor will not normally refer a patient for such tests until she has had 3 consecutive miscarriages, and I can't afford private treatment.

Can anyone give me just one reason why my periods are like this which wouldn't affect my chances of a successful pregnancy? I need a hope to cling to!!

I am 35 years old and have 2 daughters (normal, full-term pregnancies) aged 5 and 3.

A sincere thankyou to anyone who can offer suggestions, advice or support !!
