McIntosh, MD: "Re: necessity of abstinance after cervical cerclage" I am looking for new info on the necessity of sexual abstinance following placement of cerclage due to short cone length. I have heard talk that there may be no real basis for not being active. I have never lost a child due to incompetent cervix and am now 21 weeks along with Mc Donald cerclage in place. Cone length is 2.5 with no shortening or contractions.
