adhesions occasionally can be seen on TVS, appearing as bands outlined by peritoneal fluid. however, if they are not seen does not mean no adhesions are present. no formal analysis of the positive or negative predictive value of TVS for the diagnosis of adhesions has been done. hope this helps.
